Why the gap fee?
Medicare rebates haven't kept pace with advances in eye care technology. Retinal photography and visual field screening are now essential tools — the same way a GP visit might include a blood test. These tests have helped us detect glaucoma, macular degeneration, and even cancer in patients who came in just for a prescription update.
We charge a minimal gap so we can keep offering this standard of care to our community.
