What will an eye test do for you?

When was the last time you had your eyes tested? If it was more than 2 years ago, then maybe it’s time to go to the optometrist to have them checked out, even if you don’t feel that there’s anything wrong with your eyes! You may not be able to notice the small and subtle changes occurring in your eyes, so it’s best to let an optometrist have a look. After all, we need to have our eyes in excellent condition as we all know vision is important in our every day lives and considered by most to be the main way we interpret the world around us.

What will an eye test do for you?

We’ll help you find out if you need new glasses or contact lenses, or any other form of correction out there, so that you can get the best viewing experience which will be suited to your personal needs and wants.

But there’s more! An eye test also checks the health of your eyes and their ability to function, to detect any abnormalities or early signs of illness, even before you notice them yourself! Some conditions that affect us, especially in Australia’s aging population are glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, eye teaming problems and many others. This may all sound like medical jargon right now, and if you search these conditions on the internet, you may possibly frighten yourself for no reason at all! Many eye conditions, if found early enough, can be treated.

We understand this and our aim is to take care of your eyes and also to take care of you, to make sure you’re healthy and happy. We will give you the details you need to make sure you are well informed and understand the situation you are in, no matter what it may be.

Our eyes are also sensitive indicators of our general health. Optometrists may be able to detect conditions such as  hypertension, excess cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Something else to keep in mind, some children don’t complain about their vision because they don’t know what good and “normal” vision is. This might affect their school life so it’s important their eyes get tested too!

Whether you feel something is wrong with your vision or not, it is important to know that regular eye tests are a necessity, so please take care of yourself and remember to make a visit to the optometrist soon!
